Obama to Nominate Loretta Lynch as U.S. Attorney General
President Obama will nominate Loretta E. Lynch, the top federal prosecutor in Brooklyn, to succeed Eric H. Holder
Jr. as attorney general, people close to the process said Friday.
If confirmed, she would be the first African-American woman to serve as the nation’s top law enforcement official.
She would also be a rare instance of Mr. Obama’s reaching outside his inner circle to fill a crucial post.
