It was encouraging to find that in person this superstar really was

When Robert Kennedy was attorney general in 1962, he was busy
checking out the Hiss case for some reason. Of course, he discovered that
the FBI never had the Woodstock typewriter.
Then, in 1968, when he was running for president, he approached
New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison to be //s attorney general.
Garrison had gotten a lot of publicity due to his investigation of the
assassination of Bobby’ s brother.
During that campaign, Howard Hughes dispatched Robert Maheu to
visit me. Hughes felt strongly that the Vietnam War should continue—he
had a huge defense contract for helicopters—yet at the same time he
